Amitabh Bachchan Cuts Back on Social Media Posts After Age-Related Trolling

Amitabh Bachchan has revealed he significantly reduced his social media activity after encountering age-related trolling and offensive comments online. The 84-year-old actor shared his experience during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, explaining how negative remarks changed his approach to digital platforms.

The discussion began when contestant Vinamra asked how Bachchan handled online criticism. The veteran actor explained that he initially viewed social media as an open platform to express his thoughts freely. However, after reading reactions to his posts, he reconsidered his online presence. Bachchan recalled people calling him derogatory terms and questioning why an older person was sharing his views publicly, describing the experience as unpleasant.

Despite the hurtful nature of the comments, Bachchan found an ironic silver lining in the situation. He noted with humor that since reducing his posting frequency, his follower count has actually continued to grow. The observation drew laughter from both the contestant and the studio audience, lightening the mood after discussing a sensitive topic.

Bachchan is currently hosting the 18th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, which premiered in August 2024. The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television and streams on SonyLIV. His candid conversation offered viewers insight into how even established public figures navigate criticism and adapt their online behavior in response to negative feedback.
