Mescom chairman K. Harish Kumar has directed Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) to maintain continuous, high-quality electricity supply from the newly established 400 kV sub-station at Kadandale in Moodbidri taluk, Dakshina Kannada district.

Following an inspection of the facility on Friday, Kumar emphasized the importance of smooth operations at the sub-station. He noted that ensuring consistent power delivery remains a government priority, particularly given the region's expanding industrial sector and public needs. The chairman credited Energy Minister K.J. George's sustained efforts for bringing the project to fruition.

According to KPTCL Superintending Engineer Chaitanya, the sub-station represents a critical infrastructure addition aimed at delivering reliable electricity to coastal districts. The facility is designed to serve major industrial zones while offering a lasting fix to voltage fluctuation problems and low-voltage conditions that typically occur during monsoon season.

The sub-station includes built-in redundancy features that enable rapid power restoration through alternative load distribution if technical issues arise at other stations. Additionally, its connection to the Hassan-based Shanthi Grama grid provides backup power options in case of generation or supply disruptions at the Varahi or UPCL plants, ensuring greater reliability for the region.
